Description

Rare MS64 Prooflike 1879-CC Dollar

1879-CC $1 MS64 Prooflike PCGS. Only rarely do Prooflike 1879-CC dollars enter the marketplace. When encountered, the contrast is minimal and the coin is usually lower grade. This is borne out by the population data from PCGS for MS64 Prooflike coins: 46 in MS64, and only three finer (1/05). This is a sparkling prooflike example that has reflectivity in the fields that border on Deep Mirror. The devices are noticeably frosted, giving the coin a white and black appearance on each side. Fully struck throughout, there are very few abrasions present on this impressive and rarely encountered Prooflike coin.(#7087) (Registry values: P7, N2998)
