Description

1892 Indian Cent, Bright PR67 Red
Sharply Struck Throughout

1892 1C PR67 Red NGC. Snow-PR4. This Superb Gem proof displays lively caramel-marmalade surfaces on intensely reflective fields and lustrous, satiny devices. This sharply struck example is one of the 2,745 proofs from 1892, and while overall plentiful, pieces in Red become conditional rarities in every grade. This vibrant PR67 is one of only six pieces in that top grade, as reported by NGC and PCGS, combined, with no finer non-Cameo examples (9/25). A tiny carbon fleck on Liberty's cheek is the sole imperfection of significance. The glass-like fields and razor-sharp devices almost reach Cameo status, delivering exceptional eye appeal. This piece is certainly a type set and Registry contender, and is housed in a collectible NGC Generation 5 fatty holder. Census: 4 in 67 Red, 0 finer (9/25).
