1904-S Dime, MS66+
Tied for the Second Finest at PCGS

1904-S 10C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Ex: Simpson. Few collectors sought out the San Francisco dimes at the time this coin was issued, and surviving examples today are seldom encountered. There are 13 Barber dime issues with mintages less than 1 million coins, not including the 1894-S. The 1904-S is one of those, and the mintage of only 800,000 pieces ranks sixth out of those 13 for the lowest Mint State population at PCGS. This impressive Plus-graded Premium Gem exhibits a bold strike beneath gorgeous gold and iridescent luster, and PCGS shows only one finer example in MS67 (1/26).
