Description
1955 Lincoln Cent, MS62 Brown
FS-101, Doubled Die Obverse
1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, MS62 Brown ANACS. This
popular doubled die variety features dramatic doubling on the date
other obverse legends. Generally showing dark-chocolate patina on
soft, satiny luster, faint glimpses of lavender and original mint
copper are revealed on rotation. Marks are light and
grade-consistent, and light golden streaks on the surfaces of both
sides give the coin a distinctive appearance. Details show strongly
but the strike is soft on the highpoints. Housed in an early
generation ANACS small-sized holder.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22FG, Variety PCGS# 37910, Base PCGS# 2825, Greysheet# 310752)
