Description
1913 Lincoln Cent, MS67+ Red
Tied Atop the Condition Census
1913 1C MS67+ Red PCGS. The finest 1913 Lincoln cents known
are a quartet of MS67+ Red coins at PCGS, with 16 MS67 Reds half a
grade down. None are so fine at NGC. We are excited to offer one of
the top examples in the current lot. This piece stands with the ranks of the coins represented in the best Lincoln cent Registry Sets ever assembled. The Duckor specimen was an MS67+ Red, as was the Whispering Pines specimen that we handled in our January 2025 FUN Signature. The Duckor coin famously realized $60,000 in its 2023 offering, which stands as the auction record for any 1913 cent.
The current coin displays lovely, luminous mint luster composed of golden, orange, and amber-red hues. The Red nature is blatantly apparent, and there are no overt spots to mention. Not even a notable abrasion appears on the coin. Beyond that, the design elements yield exceptional sharpness, leaving nothing to the imagination. PCGS Population: 20 in 67 (4 in 67+), 0 finer (11/25).(Registry values: N1793)
