Description

Sublime Coronation 5 Sovereign Proof

George VI gold Proof 5 Pounds 1937 PR66 Cameo NGC, KM861, S-4074, Fr-409. A standout issue from the George VI series: a one-year, Proof-only type struck during the King's Coronation year. The 5 Pound denomination would not be revived again until the reign of Elizabeth II. The mintage of this issue is not insignificant, as such, low-grade or impaired examples can be obtained easily with little premium-but quality, well-maintained Proofs, especially Cameos, are highly appreciated by the collecting community. This Gem Cameo specimen is absolutely gorgeous and is of an elite quality not often encountered on the market.
