1926-D $20 MS62 NGC....
Description
1926-D Double Eagle, MS62
Conditionally Elusive Denver Issue
1926-D $20 MS62 NGC. Although overseas repatriates have
bolstered the 1926-D population over the past five decades, the
1926-D is still considerably scarcer than the 1925-D and even
slightly scarcer than the 1925-S as well. An estimated 600 1926-D
pieces survive in all grades combined. Thickly frosted straw-gold
surfaces retain their original mint luster throughout this MS62
example and while a few grade-defining abrasions exist, there are
no individually heavy marks. The strike is sharper at the lower
obverse for this challenging Denver Mint issue than often seen. NGC
