Catherine II gold 5 Roubles 1776-CПБ MS60 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C78a, Bitkin-72 (R), Fr-130a. The finest specimen of this date available in certified form; that includes three NGC certified 1776/5 overdates, with none of those rising above an AU58 designation. A remarkable survivor of this conditionally challenging series that should be a gratifying sight for collectors that have been patiently waiting for a Mint-State example of this date to surface.
