1879 1C PR67 Red Cameo PCGS. Snow-PR2....
Description
1879 Indian Head Cent, PR67 Red Cameo
Spectacular Eye Appeal
1879 1C PR67 Red Cameo PCGS. Snow-PR2. While the 1879 proofs
are considerably more available from the 3,200-piece proof mintage,
this issue remains rare in high proof grades - especially at the
Superb Gem Red Cameo grade. PCGS reports only three such pieces,
with only one at PR67+ Red Cameo (9/25). NGC has yet to certify any
PR67 Red Cameo examples. This sharply struck proof displays a
mixture of orange, red-gold, and olive colors over deeply
reflective fields that frame richly frosted devices. A tiny
planchet flake is noted below the E in STATES, a Mint-made anomaly
of minor consequence in relation to the spectacular eye appeal of
this riveting 1879 proof. Population: 3 in 67 (1 in 67+) Cameo, 0
finer (9/25).(Registry values: P2)From The LaLonde Family Collection.
