The Captain Andrew C. Zabriskie Collection, sold in June 1909, was one of Henry Chapman's most important dispersals, remembered for its great rarities across colonial, pioneer gold, and federal series. The copper portion included an exceptional run of early large cents and half cents, with emphasis on quality. Chapman highlighted "extremely fine cents and half cents" from 1793 onward, including Chain, Wreath, and Liberty Cap cents, and strong selections of 1794-1796 varieties. Many were noted for sharpness and preservation rarely available at the time.

The half cents featured the difficult 1793, 1794, alongside a near-complete set through the later issues. Chapman gave careful attention to die varieties and condition, underscoring the collection's scholarly and collector value. While the sale gained fame for the Brasher Doubloon and pioneer gold coins, the copper series was a pillar of the cabinet, cementing Zabriskie's reputation as one of the foremost copper collectors of his era.
