Provincial Uniface Siege Klippe 25 Stuivers 1672 AU58 PCGS, Groningen mint, KM26, CNM-2.20.4 As part of the Franco-Dutch War, Groningen was besieged by the combined forces of Cologne and Münster under the command of the Bishop of Münster, Cristoph Bernhard von Galen, 17 July - 27 August 1672. Siege pieces of various denominations, such as this, were struck in the city after the invaders had been expelled, in commemoration of the victory. The finest example of this particular denomination Heritage has offered in over a decade.Metal: Silver
