Description

Brandenburg-Ansbach. Christiane Charlotte, as Regent 1/2 Taler 1726 MS65 NGC, Schwabach mint, KM155, Grüber-4399. Mintmaster: Johann Jakob Ebenauer; Dies by Georg Wilhelm Vestner. Christiane Charlotte (of Wurttemberg-Winnental) ruled as (regent) margravine of Brandenburg-Ansbach during her son Karl Wilhelm Friedrich's minority, from 1723 to 1729. A stellar example of the only 1/2 Taler denomination to feature Christiane Charlotte's elusive portrait, of superior quality at such a lofty tier of Mint State certification. The obverse is particularly well-preserved, seemingly free from any surface distractions; and the patina, on the whole, is magnificently aged, near to perfection.
