Description

Henry VIII (1509-1547) Groat ND (1544-1547) AU55 NGC, Tower mint, Lis mm, S-2369, N-1844. 2.63gm. Third Coinage. The fetching 3/4 facing crowned and mantled bust of Henry VIII for his 3rd coinage. There is significant doubling to the King's head and face but the overall appearance of the portrait is still very presentable. Also the dark, granite patina brings a rugged yet refined look that is a perfect canvas for the King's regal scowl. A high quality example of the type.
