Description

1884 Cent, PR68 Brown
Sole Finest at NGC

1884 1C PR68 Brown NGC. Snow-PR1. Brown proof Indian cents usually do not excite collectors as much as Red coins or Cameos, but this Brown proof is an exception. It is the only proof 1884 cent at NGC in the PR68 grade across all color designations, and none are finer. PCGS also lists just two in PR68, one in Brown and the other Red and Brown (9/25). Liberty's portrait, the wreath, and the small shield are razor-sharp, complementing liquidlike fields and unmarked surfaces. Sea-green, gold, and russet toning make up the Brown coloration. Census: 1 in 68 Brown, 0 finer (9/25).
