Description

Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1761 So-J AU55 NGC, Santiago mint, KM20, Cal-2127, Onza-899. The first run of 8 Escudos produced by the Santiago mint featured the portrait of the previous King, Ferdinand VI. These issues are notoriously difficult to procure in high grades, even a quality AU specimen such as this is among the finest handful of examples represented on NGC's census. This piece flaunts a gorgeous tan gold patina and excellent definition to Ferdinand's bust.
