Description

1895 Half Eagle, MS65+
Wonderful Type Coin

1895 $5 MS65+ PCGS. The 1895 Liberty Head five dollar gold had an abundant mintage of more than 1 million coins, but few can match the quality of this lovely example. Medium yellow-gold toning covers surfaces that have only small contact marks, none of them being bothersome. The luster is full and frosty, radiating throughout the devices and fields. Fully struck with design elements well formed. The overall quality is exceptional, and this specimen would make a wonderful type coin. PCGS Population: 28 in 65 (2 in 65+), 15 finer (9/25).(Registry values: P2)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25YH, PCGS# 8390, Greysheet# 8941)

Weight: 8.36 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
