1915-S $5 MS63 PCGS....
Description
1915-S Indian Half Eagle, MS63
Scarce Issue at This Grade Level
1915-S $5 MS63 PCGS. The 1914-S and the 1915-S Indian five
represent two important mint keys in the Indian gold series. Of the
two dates, the 1915-S has the smaller mintage (33% less than the
1914-S) although the survivorship is about the same between the two
issues. Both San Francisco dates become scarce at the MS63 grade
and rare any finer. This Select Uncirculated 1915-S is sharply
struck including the lowest three headdress feathers and the eagle
eagle's plumage. Deep orange-gold color with traces of warm-gray
patina grace the original, well-defined surfaces. A few light marks
account for the assigned grade. Population: 64 in 63 (1 in 63+), 13
finer (10/25).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25ZR, PCGS# 8531, Greysheet# 9330)
