A Prized Novodel 10 Roubles

Elizabeth gold Novodel 10 Roubles 1756-CПБ AU58+ NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C28.2 (for regular issue), Bitkin-H76 (R3), Fr-122 (unlisted in Novodel). Another dynamic rarity presented from this momentous collection of Russian numismatics, the most grand of the standard denominations issued in Russia's Elizabethan era, especially prized as a Novodel strike. For this particular date, business strikes were produced both in Moscow and St. Petersburg, though Novodel pieces such as this were limited only to the latter of those mint locations. Though pegged just shy of a Mint State designation by NGC, they have deemed this to be a Novodel type. Despite light handling; the considerable flash of the surfaces, the exacting strike, and quality of the flan indicate an elevated level of production, beyond what would be expected on a business strike issue. This selection will mark the first ever occasion at Heritage for the sale of a Novodel 10 Roubles featuring Elizabeth's portrait, greatly important as such.

1756-CПБ年伊莉莎白Novodel 10盧布金幣。AU58+ NGC,
聖彼得堡造幣廠。是次俄國錢幣專場矚目震撼，而此幣則又是一枚可遇不可求的珍品，為伊莉莎白一世時期之最高面額流硬幣，而Novodel後鑄身份更是尤其難得。1756年的流通幣於莫斯科及聖彼得堡鑄造，但Novodel幣則僅限於聖佊得堡的數家小造幣廠。雖然評分與原廠狀態交諸交臂，但NGC亦視此幣為Novodel。幣面誠然帶有輕淡的觸痕，但仍散發出飽滿耀山的光澤。鑄打精準細緻，幣坯品質上乘，可見鑄造工藝爐火純青，遠非普通流通幣可比。此為海瑞得首次有幸經手伊莉莎白女皇像的Novodel 10盧布，地位舉足輕重。
