Rome, AD 163-164. •M•ANTONINVS-AVG ARMEN P M, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius right, seen from behind / TR P XVIII-COS III, Victory standing facing, head right, stylus in right hand, supporting a shield set on a palm tree with left. Calicó 1987a. RIC III 116. Although a legend on the shield seems to have been visibly removed from this die, RIC and Calicó make no mention of variations with a legend. Light cartwheel luster with radiant flowlines.
