Description

Victoria gold Proof 1/2 Sovereign 1839 PR65 Ultra Cameo NGC, KM735.1, S-3859, W&R-343. Plain edge. Coin alignment. Issued as part of Victoria's Coronation Proof Set, which famously included the "Una and the Lion" 5 Pound piece. Though certainly not at the level of rarity and prestige of the Una piece, the present specimen is quite special in such superior condition. Idyllic in it's preservation level and overall beauty, this Gem Proof coin features a bust of young Victoria that is decadently coated in canary yellow Ultra Cameo frost, that appears as if it's floating against a pitch black backdrop. One of only three coin alignment variants to grade this high at NGC, with none finer.
