Description

1893 Morgan Dollar, MS64
VAM-3, Doubled 3 High, CAC

1893 $1 MS64 PCGS. CAC. The upper loop of the 3 is closed and strongly doubled at the top and the left side of the left wreath leaves is doubled. The issue is a better date in Gem and finer, and while Select Uncirculated examples are plentiful, this near-Gem also features endorsement from CAC and outstanding eye appeal. The obverse is generally brilliant with a faint wisp of light-gold on the outer edges. The reverse shows a coating of light-gold throughout, along with tiny splashes of cobalt-blue, amber and lavender on the edges. Satiny luster contributes to a fantastic cartwheel effect. Largely well-struck, there is slight weakness on the hair over the ear and on the talons. Marks are grade-consistent with none individually significant or bothersome.(Registry values: P7, N1793)
