King standing in ship, holding sword and shield (five lys therein, not noted by Lawrence), ornaments 1-11-11-1, ropes 3/3, quatrefoils 4/3, lis 5. Saltire before EDWARD / IhC x AVTEM x TRANCIENS x P : MEDIVM x ILLORR x' IBAT. Additional lis in second quarter, floriate cross, crowned leopards in angles, pellets to corners of central panel, large E at center.

A stunningly preserved example of a Edward III Noble, looking practically the same as it did when first struck over 650 years ago. The only contention on this piece is the strike softness on the King's facial features, otherwise this piece is an exemplary example. The single finest NGC specimen from the transitional treaty period, emphatically scarce as such. Accompanied by old collector's ticket.
