Hupeh. Kuang-hsü "Large Characters" Tael Year 30 (1904) AU55 NGC, Wuchang mint, KM-Y128.1, L&M-181, Kann-933b, WS-0879, Large characters variety. A classic Chinese provincial rarity, and one which enters into a state of scarcity in straight grades, with many plagued by earlier cleanings. The rarer of the two varieties known for this one-year type, the denomination was originally introduced as part of a projected coinage reform based on the traditional system of Chinese weights, rather than the relatively recently introduced decimalized Dollar system. Expertly rendered with only a smattering of evidence of handling and signs of contact to bound the assigned grade, while both faces retain a gentle residual luster and attractive cabinet tone.

武昌造幣廠。大字版。這枚中國省造銀幣經典雋永，惟大多曾遭清洗，故獲評分者可遇不可求。此幣發行僅一年，分為兩款版別，此為當中較稀罕少見者。此幣緣起於以中國傳統重量單位，而非現代十進制「圓」為基礎的貨幣改革，呈現出天衣無縫的雕工，正背面餘光柔和，窖藏包漿迷人萬分。
