Description

1865 Three Cent Silver, PR67 Cameo
Beautifully Toned, Rare as a Cameo

1865 3CS PR67 Cameo PCGS. CAC. Ex: Simpson. Vivid rainbow toning glitters in the reflective fields on this Superb Gem Cameo proof, complementing frosty, sharp devices. No die lapping is visible in the design recesses, which sets this piece apart from many of its peers. The proof 1865 three cent silver piece is typically seen in non-Cameo grades, and such coins are unknown finer than PR66+ in a PCGS holder. Cameo examples are rare in any grade, and the existence of a few such pieces at the Superb Gem level makes them highly sought after by advanced specialists. PCGS lists only two Deep Cameos, both in PR66. The Simpson PR67 Cameo is within the Condition Census of PCGS specimens. Only one piece is numerically finer at that service. Population: 3 in 67 (1 in 67+) Cameo, 1 finer (11/21). CAC: 2 in 67, 1 finer (12/21).(Registry values: N4719)
