1871 Standard Silver Half Dime in Copper
Judd-1066, PR66+ Red and Brown

1871 H10C Standard Silver Half Dime, Judd-1066, Pollock-1201, Low R.7, PR66+ Red and Brown PCGS. Ex: Simpson. Longacre's Indian princess design is featured on the obverse, with stars around the periphery. The reverse displays the denomination inside of a wreath of cotton and corn and the inscription STANDARD above, i.e., the "Standard Reverse" design of 1870. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. More than half a dozen of these Standard Silver half dime patterns are known. The present high-end Premium Gem is flashy copper-brown with splashes of blue, green, and magenta color. Minimal carbon and virtually contact-free.
