Description

1866 Dollar, PR64 Brown
Trial Strike in Copper, Judd-541

1866 $1 Dollar, Judd-541, Pollock-606, Low R.6, PR64 Brown PCGS. This is a trial piece made from the regular dies. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. These were likely issued for sale to collectors, as such practices were commonplace at the time. The surfaces feature reddish-brown color and fully struck devices. A few small ticks are scattered over each side but do not diminish the appeal of this example.
