Description
1796 Half Dime, Sharp AU53
V-1, LM-1, LIKERTY
1796 H10C LIKERTY, V-1, LM-1, R.3, AU53 PCGS. This is a
bright, sharply detailed Draped Bust type coin, showing hints of
reflectivity in the protected areas of the fields. The strike is
even and well-centered, producing bold border dentils around each
side. Hints of light golden toning appear over otherwise brilliant
surfaces. Although a few scattered abrasions are present, the
surfaces are pleasantly devoid of any tool marks or other
impairments. The broken B in LIBERTY readily identifies this
popular LIKERTY Guide Book variety. From The Elbert Henry Gary Collection.
