Description

1836 HM-6 Classic Five, AU58

1836 $5 HM-6, R.3, AU58 NGC. HM-6 is a relatively available die marriage found on about 25% of surviving 1836 examples. Glistening yellow-gold surfaces retain most of their luster on this lightly marked, near-Mint coin. The strike is sharp, although about half of the stars lack varying degrees of central detail. We note a solitary small mark near star 4, and a faint abrasion near Liberty's eye. Occasional orange accents add eye appeal. This is an ideal type coin, close to full Mint State with vibrant eye appeal.
