Description
1853 $5 MS61 NGC. Highly lustrous surfaces display few marks and benefit from a bold strike. The color is a healthy orange-gold and the eye appeal, especially with regards to the obverse, is great. Like the 1852, the relatively high mintage 1853 half eagle is available in circulated grades, yet becomes noticeably scarce in Mint State.
