Description
1862-S Two and a Half, AU55
Elusive in All Grades
1862-S $2 1/2 AU55 PCGS. With fewer than 100 examples
surviving from a mintage of 8,000 pieces, the 1862-S quarter eagle
is an underrated scarcity in all grades. Mint State pieces are
prohibitively rare and out of reach for most collectors. This
Choice AU example displays partially lustrous yellow-gold fields
and well-detailed motifs. Trivial marks accompany the grade.
