Dallas, Texas: Heritage is holding its inaugural Platinum Night auction on January 7th, as part of their official auctions being held at the 2004 annual convention of the Florida United Numismatists in Orlando. The special Platinum Night catalogs feature some of the very finest coins that Heritage is auctioning at FUN, offered together in one sizzling session of the rarest of the rare. Platinum Night in anchored by the magnificent Green Pond and North Shore Collections. The Green Pond Collection of Dahlonega Gold is one of the finest complete collections of these rarities ever assembled, holding dual PCGS Registry leadership as the #1 Current and #1 All-Time Finest Dahlonega Collection. The overall quality of every coin is simply incredible, with many “finest known” and “Condition Census” survivors. Nearly every Green Pond rarity is a plate coin in the second edition of Doug Winter's Gold Coins of the Dahlonega Mint, 1838-1861. The Green Pond Collection contains rarities with pedigrees from many of the most important collections of the last century.
The North Shore Collection was assembled by the Chairman of a large, well-established New York manufacturing company, who resides on the North Shore of Long Island known as the “Gold Coast.” His passions are his family, philanthropy, and his world-class numismatic collection - one of the most important consignments in Heritage’s history.
