Press Release - October 15, 2004

Heritage to Host Palm Beach Signature Auction

Dallas, Texas: The Heritage Palm Beach Signature Auction will be held Nov. 4 to 6 at the Palm Beach Convention Center. Heritage is the official auctioneer and sponsor of the Palm Beach Coin Show, a new and promising major venue. The six-session sale features 5,548 lots. In addition to the Signature sale, the Palm Beach Bullet Auction will take place online Monday, November 8 at Heritage's award-winning website.

"The Palm Beach Signature Auction is stocked with rarities worthy of the most advanced collection," asserted Heritage President Greg Rohan. "A Cohen-4 1793 Half Cent, MS64 Brown PCGS, has beautiful chocolate-brown color and ranks among the finest certified examples. Every collector dreams of owning a 1792 Half Disme, and a piece graded VF25 by PCGS provides a rare opportunity. A 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter is a key date in any grade, but the Palm Beach auction has an originally toned Gem certified as MS66 Full Head by NGC."

Outstanding high denomination gold rarities set the pace for the Greg & Lesia Hosch Collection, although their Carson City Dollars and 19th Century type coins are also impressive. The quality, diversity, and extent of the consignment ensures that gold collectors of all denominations and types will be seeking the Hosch pedigree.

Highlights of the Greg & Lesia Hosch Collection:

The Charlotte Mint is the focus of the North Carolina Collection, which offers many Condition Census pieces with illustrious pedigrees from the Ed Milas, Harry W. Bass, and Buddy Ebsen collections. The 1846-C Half Eagle is one of the standouts of the entire Signature Auction.

Highlights of the North Carolina Collection:

The A. James Evans Collection contributes 34 different high quality patterns, which includes six 1873 Trade Dollar varieties and six Liberty Nickel patterns from 1881 to 1883. Popular types such as Liberty by the Seashore demonstrate the variety of the collection.

Highlights of the A. James Evans Collection of Patterns:

Although the Rafael Romero Collection has a significant offering of Indian and Lincoln Cents in addition to other interesting pieces, Morgan Dollars are the centerpiece of his holdings. Complete by date and mintmark aside from the proof-only 1895, there are also extensive selections of Top 100 and Hot 50 varieties that will make the Palm Beach Signature Auction highly memorable for specialists of this always popular series.

Highlights of the Rafael Romero Collection of Morgan Dollars:

Other featured consignors for the Heritage Palm Beach Signature Auction include The Ardmore Registry Collection of Walking Liberty Halves, The Ted Bensinger III Collection, The Harry Berenthal Collection, The Mark Hayfield Collection of Mint Errors, The Gene Holland Collection of United States Coins, Part One, and The Dr. Gary Hogg Collection.
