#1 All Time PCGS Gold Registry Sets - both 20th Century Proof Gold Type & Gold Circulation Strikes - Consigned to Heritage's 2005 FUN Signature Auction

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Numismatic Auctions will be selling two incredible #1 PCGS Gold Registry sets in their upcoming FUN Signature Auction, taking place January 12 to 15 in Fort Lauderdale. Heritage is the official auctioneer of FUN's 50th Anniversary convention.

Paul R. Taylor has consigned two astonishing collections of gold coins: both rated as the #1 All Time finest on the PCGS Registry:
  • The Paul Taylor Collection: the #1 All Time Finest 20th Century Proof Gold Type Set, 1900-1915, in the PCGS Registry
  • The Paul Taylor Collection: the #1 All Time Finest Set of Gold Circulation Strikes, in the PCGS Registry

"Mr. Taylor's two Type Sets," enthused Heritage President Greg Rohan, "are simply phenomenal. His Proof Gold Type set contains eight coins and his Circulation Gold Type set contains twelve coins, and their overall quality is simply extraordinary. Considering the number of collectors pursuing high-grade gold type coins, it is amazing what dedication, sustained effort, discriminating aesthetic appreciation, and trained eye were required to assemble the All Time Finest Gold Type coins."

Mr. Taylor started collecting coins as a teenager in the later 1950s and early 1960s, and after selling his collection to buy his first car, he pursued other hobbies. He returned to coins in 1996, assembling a set of Peace Dollars which was once the #1 PCGS Registry set, and Proof Barber Halves which were also the #1 Registry set at one time.

"When Mr. Taylor sets a goal," concluded Rohan, "he pursues it every day possible, and he has met the Registry challenge numerous times with success. This is an accomplishment of the first order, and the proof of his accomplishment is in the coins themselves. These are, simply, the finest of the finest, and everything else comes behind." In accomplishing such goals, Mr. Taylor believes that the "Most important factor is to find a dealer you can trust, who knows the market, and who acts with integrity."
