The Kenneth E. McAlister Registry Collection of Full Bell Franklins To Sell at Heritage's FUN 2005 Signature Auction: The Kenny's Bennies #3 PCGS Registry Set of Franklin Halves

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Numismatic Auctions will be selling the McAlister Collection of Full Bell Franklin Halves - a.k.a. The Kenny's Bennies PCGS Registry Set of Franklin Halves - in their upcoming FUN Signature Auction, to take place January 12 to 15 in Fort Lauderdale. Heritage is the official auctioneer of FUN's 50th Anniversary convention.

"The McAlister Collection," noted Heritage President Greg Rohan, "reflects the careful attention to detail required of any Registry set, with many years of effort required to locate so many pieces among the Finest Known. Mr. McAlister, like many other coin collectors, started collecting coins during his teen years -- mainly cents and nickels since they seemed so affordable. His first collection was sold to pay for his first car, and then he "discovered girls". He finally retuned to coin collecting around six years ago, and after buying a few diverse items, decided to focus on a series that he had loved: Franklin Halves. He thought that it would be relatively easy to complete, but once he discovered the PCGS Registry system, his "competitive drive" kicked in. Pursuing his 1953-S and 1961 key dates (now his favorites), he discovered that Franklins in the highest grades weren't quite as easy as first contemplated. The result is The "Kenny's Bennies" #3 All-Time PCGS Registry Set of Full Bell Line Franklin Half Dollars. Mr. McAlister is now in the process of deciding upon his next numismatic goal, because he loved the passion of collecting, going to shows, and the friendly people he has met."
