$6.7 Million Realized in Heritage's Long Beach Currency Auction

DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Currency Auctions of America (CAA) held its most recent Signature Auction September 21-23, 2005 as part of Heritage Numismatics Auctions, Inc.'s Official Auctioneer at the Long Beach Coin Expo. $6,757,639 was realized, with 2,315 total bidders participating, 733 of them successfully, for 4,969 total lots. 74 lots were purchased after the auctions by 43 bidders for a total of $40,553, although after-auction sales are still ongoing.

"This was an extremely strong auction," said Allen Mincho, Director of CAA, "with strong bidder participation and exceptional interest in currency of all types. This was a great auction with which to close out 2005, and we're all looking forward to our first event of 2006, to be held January 6-7 in Orlando, Florida as part of the Florida United Numismatists Convention."
