Heritage's FUN Sale Poised to Set Records

Dallas, Texas: Scheduled for January 4-6, 2001, Heritage's FUN Sale will offer numerous coins and notes sure to excite collectors of all tastes and budgets. The sale is the official auction of the FUN Convention, and will be held at the Orange County Convention Center. The FUN Signature sales will be conducted in six sessions on January 4-6, a one-session currency-only sale (being offered in a separate catalog) will be held on January 4, and the FUN Bullet Auction will take place on January 6.

According to Heritage Auction Director Bob Korver: "With more than 4,000 lots of coins and a further 876 currency lots in the Signature sales alone, the 2001 FUN Sale will be our largest ever. From fabled rarities such as the 1943 copper Lincoln cent, to high grade type coins such as a 1798 Large Eagle silver dollar MS 63 PCGS, to affordable representatives of series like the Indian cent, Barber quarter, and Bust half dollar, this sale will tantalize bidders with numerous choices to fill their want lists."

"The Gregg Bingham NFL Collection offers some of the most spectacular Morgan dollars that we have ever handled," noted Heritage Executive VP Greg Rohan. "Many of the coins are condition rarities, and a few of the examples, such as the 1882-O and 1897-O, are backed by intriguing histories and pedigrees."

The highlight of Heritage's currency consignments is the Texas Collection. "Formed by Heritage Co-Chairman Steve Ivy over a period of more than 20 years, the Texas Collection is the finest collection of Texas National Bank Notes in private hands," stated Jason W. Bradford, Heritage's Currency Cataloger. "The collection features 434 notes from 429 different Texas banks that issued National Currency, and these banks represent 294 towns in the state."

The entire 2001 FUN auction catalog is posted online at http://www.heritagecoin.com. Online bidding is open now, and will continue until the night before each session.
