Head of '94, this is the Second Marred Field variety as named by Dr. Maris for the raised areas in the left obverse field caused by die chipping. The S-31 also has the longest fraction bar of any 1794 cent. Deep steel-brown color covers an abundant amount of surface corrosion and porosity. A more difficult variety. (PCGS# 1365)
