Undated 1/2 P London Elephant Token, LON DON. VF20 PCGS. Betts-82, Hodder 2-D, W-12060, High R.6. Breen's "Godless" London variety, which he listed as "very rare." Most Elephant tokens are Hodder 2-B, which has the reverse legend GOD PRESERVE LONDON. This deep-brown piece has several tiny roundish obverse marks and a few faded thin reverse abrasions. Minor rim nicks are noted on the reverse at 5 and 7 o'clock. Nevertheless, eye appeal remains strong for this rarest of the London Elephant tokens. Listed on page 43 of the 2025 Guide Book.

1724 1/2 P Hibernia Halfpenny, M. 4.67-K.3, W-13690, R.2, MS62 Brown PCGS. A lovely and unmarked example of this very scarce final year Hibernia issue. Hints of mint salmon-pink color reside in secluded areas, while the devices and most of the fields exhibit pleasing golden-brown toning. A light die crack connects the tops of ERNIA in HIBERNIA. This impressive Select Uncirculated Washington Small Eagle cent is sharply struck and offers blended chocolate-brown patina, with a few medium to dark-brown accents. Abrasions, marks, or spots are wholly absent, making the eye appeal formidable for the designated grade. Housed in a green label holder. Listed on page 79 of the 2025 Guide Book.

1799 Washington Funeral Urn Medal AU58 NGC. Baker-166C, Fuld 1-B, GW-70. White medal, plain edge, 29 mm. An attractive medal with even, medium gray color and some luster remaining in the protected areas. There are a few tiny nicks on the reverse but these hardly detract from the desirability of this historic and rare medal. Fuld notes at least six different die marriages, but estimates only 25 to 40 reported specimens among all varieties. Only two specimens are known unholed. The rest were holed when issued to be worn for the Boston funeral observances in February, 1800. The dies were engraved by Jacob Perkins, who had also engraved many dies for Massachusetts state coppers and was soon to be an important innovator in banknote engraving.

1795 1/2P Washington Grate Halfpenny, Large Buttons, Lettered Edge MS62 Red and Brown PCGS. Baker-29, W-10990, R.6. Not to be confused with the common Baker-29AA reeded edge variety. The Rulau update of Fuld states "about 10 known." Substantial orange-red color fills the legends and outlines the devices. The fields and portrait have toned medium brown. Undisturbed aside from a minuscule spot between the bust and the AN in HUMANITY. The faint curved lines within the grate were on the planchet prior to the strike, and similar lines are seen on many other Large Button halfpennies. The die cud on the F in FIRM suggests the lettered edge pieces were struck at a later time than the reeded edge pieces. Listed on page 81 of the 2025 Guide Book. Population: 1 in 62, 4 finer (6/24). (1795) PENNY Washington Liberty & Security Penny, Corded Rim, Bust Left MS63 Brown PCGS. Baker-30E, W-11055, R.7. Much scarcer than its Plain Rims counterpart, the Corded Rim is identified by the teeth-like pattern throughout both outer rims. This sharply struck Select example displays smooth and prooflike cherry-wood fields. The coin is essentially void of marks, although a thin, diagonal planchet flaw through the D in AND will identify the present specimen in any future auction appearances. 1787 Fugio Cent, Club Rays, Rounded Ends, N. 3-D, W-6680, R.3, XF45 PCGS. There are only two die marriages for the Rounded Ends Club Rays type. N. 3-D is distinguished from N. 4-E by die doubled rings on the upper reverse. A bold milk-chocolate example that is nicely centered throughout. There are no mentionable marks or corrosion spots that are so common to these coins. A few degrees of counterclockwise die rotation are noted. Listed on page 85 of the 2007 Guide Book. 1787 1C Fugio Cent, Pointed Rays, Cinquefoils, STATES UNITED, MS64 Brown NGC. N. 11-X, W-6790, R.4. This is an attractive example that is undoubtedly from the Bank of New York hoard, as are nearly all high quality Fugio cents that survive today. Mahogany-brown color on the obverse is accented by lighter tan on certain of the devices. The reverse is somewhat lighter in overall appearance. Heavy obverse clash marks from the intertwined links of the reverse design are present on most examples of this variety. Pleasing surfaces are remarkable clean without the usually seen planchet fissures. Listed on page 84 of the 2025 Guide Book. (PCGS# 878094)

1926-S 50C Oregon MS68 NGC. When this attractive classic commemorative half was coined, it was an example of one of two inaugural issues in the Oregon Trail design. This San Francisco issue helped set the stage for the long-running series that followed. Vibrant mint luster shines beneath dappled emerald-gold, orange, and silver-blue patina on this attractively toned example. The fields show a measure of prooflike reflectivity and the strike is sharp despite a few faint reverse die cracks. (PCGS# 9341)
