1787 COPPER Connecticut Copper, Draped Bust Left Fine 15 PCGS. M. 33.10-Z.8, R.5. A scarce variety in which the LI in ETLIB touches. A leaf from the branch touches the lower dot of the colon after INDE. Struck a few degrees off center at 9 o'clock, but the legends are little effected. Nicely detailed chocolate-brown surfaces, with some minor planchet streaks as made. (PCGS# 370)

1865 3CN AU58 ANACS, well struck in all areas save for the central reverse, both sides are virtually untoned with clashmarks (as struck) in a few field areas; 1866 AU58 ANACS, the strike sharpens toward the borders, the surfaces are tinged in tan-gray shades; 1870 AU58 ANACS, both sides are golden tinged with no mentionable blemishes and average striking definition for the type; and an 1873 Closed 3 AU58 ANACS, mostly golden-gray in sheen, the surfaces do reveal some light, not overly distracting flecks in the fields. 1957 50C PR68 Cameo NGC. This is one of the most stunning proof specimens which we have had the pleasure of examining in quite some time. With jet-black fields and icy-white devices, it would seem to be a textbook example of the "black and white" coin. A few tiny pinpricks are seen on Franklin's cheek, and perhaps these account for the lack of a PR69, or even the elusive PR70 designation. Even so, it is hard to imagine why the grader chose "Cameo," rather than "Deep Cameo," to describe the fabulous contrast which we see. (PCGS# 86698)
