1889 1C MS66 Red PCGS. Another high grade, full red Indian cent in this very impressive Registry Set. While more than 48 million pieces were struck of the 1889, only six other coins have been preserved in similar condition to this one and certified as such by the major services. The surfaces of this coin display an even cherry-red coloration with bright, glossy mint luster that rolls around each side. Typically struck for an 1889 with full details on the diamonds but incomplete definition on the upper feathertips of the headdress.

1889 1C MS66 Red PCGS. As usual, the tips of the feathers on the Indian's headdress shows weak definition. However, the remainder of the coin is superlative in all respects. The surfaces are covered with rich, even, original red mint luster that glows just as it did 113 years ago when it was new. It is truly remarkable how well preserved this piece is and it should be seen in-person to be fully appreciated. Population: 6 in 66, 0 finer (10/02). (PCGS# 2174)

1889 1C MS65 Red PCGS. The rich amber-gold and mint-green toning that covers each side of this lovely Gem is illuminated by shimmering, beautiful luster. A shallow planchet void (as struck) rests just beneath the O in OF, on the upper obverse. A couple of microscopic marks are noted on Liberty's cheekbone and jaw, and a few flyspecks are scattered near the center of the reverse. (PCGS# 2174)
