1847 10C PR66 PCGS. All of the digits in the date touch, but do not overlap the base of Liberty's rock, and striations are seen on the reverse between the TED in UNITED and the denticles. These features are diagnostic of this rare proof delivery, of which perhaps eight examples are extant. One of only four specimens known to both NGC and PCGS (7/01), this coin is richly toned in copper-charcoal patina, through which golden, lilac, and electric-blue undertones shine at certain angles. Fully struck with razor sharp denticles and broad rims. This is the first proof 1847 Seated Dime that we have handled in at least 10 years--a true indicator of the rarity of this issue.
