1942 5C Type One PR66 Cameo PCGS. Extremely rare, as are all 1936-1942 proofs with any degree of contrast. This is a boldly struck and nearly untoned Type One Gem with good cameo contrast. There is just the slightest hint of color on each side with good reflectivity in the fields. Jefferson's jaw has a small planchet flaw, as made, and the dies are slightly rotated counterclockwise. The finest of only two pieces certified as Cameo by PCGS. None have been certified as Deep Cameo. Population: 1 in 66, 0 finer (8/04). (PCGS# 84179)
