1844 $2 1/2 AU50 NGC. A meager mintage of 6,784 pieces accounts for the rarity of the 1844 quarter eagle. This sun-gold example displays pockets of bright luster. Only trivial abrasions are present aside from a few wispy field marks on the lower obverse.(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25GT, PCGS# 7734, Greysheet# 8265)
