Description

Proof 1870 Judd-1003 Pattern Silver Dollar

1870 $1 Barber's Seated Liberty Dollar, Judd-1003, Pollock-1135, Low R.7, PR63 NGC. William Barber's Seated Liberty design as more fully described at Judd-816. The reverse is from the regular-issue Seated Liberty dollar. Struck in silver with a plain edge. Although a few light hairlines limit the grade of this piece, it is an appealing proof with deeply mirrored fields and lustrous devices. Both sides have pale gold toning with a few freckles of darker color on the reverse.
