Description

1859 1 Cent Brass N9 Fine 12 PCGS. Fine 12 ICCS. Lightly cleaned with some areas of corrosion on the reverse. No Canadian copper set is considered complete without the "Brass Penney". This coin has taken on tremendous importance to the avid copper collector. What makes the situation so odd is the fact that this, so-called, circulating off-metal strike is technically a pattern. The Canadian traditionalists ignore that trivia and place the coin in the business strike category. This variety seldom appears nicer than this example.
