Description
Choice Judd-900 1870 Standard Silver Quarter
1870 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-900, Pollock-1015, R.5, PR64 PCGS. A Standard Silver design with the figure of Liberty wearing a headband inscribed LIBERTY. A scroll occupies the exergual space below the bust where the date would normally be placed. The reverse has 25 CENTS 1870 in the center and is surrounded by a wreath of cotton and corn with the word STANDARD above. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Struck from heavily clashed dies, uncommon for Judd-900 and unusual within the Standard Silver series. The centers are brilliant, while golden-tan and aqua grace the borders.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29X7, PCGS# 61144, Greysheet# 13616)
