Description

Very Scarce 1873 Trade Dollar MS66

1873 T$1 MS66 NGC. A near-twin to the exceptional 1873 Trade Dollar sold last March at the Portland ANA Sale (at over $14,000), being very likely from the same original source. Both sides are attractively framed in speckled russet and violet toning, and are boldly struck in virtually all areas. The surfaces are sparingly abraded and display a soft, frosted sheen that is undeniably original. The first year 1873 issue is very scarce in Mint State and is flat out rate with the eye appeal and preservation of the coin offered here. Population: 3 in 66, 0 finer (12/04).(#7031) (Registry values: N7079)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 252W, PCGS# 7031, Greysheet# 7349)
