Scarce Undated Liberty Octagonal Gold Dollar, BG-501, AU55
Undated Liberty Octagonal Gold Dollar, BG-501, Low R.5, AU55 NGC. Typically struck with some mushiness of detail noted on both sides. The pale green-gold surfaces retain considerable luster, for a Choice AU example. One of the few undated issues in the California fractional gold series, estimated to have been struck in 1853 by NGC, and a pleasing piece overall.
