Description

1950 Cameo PR67 Half Dollar
A Rare, First-Year Issue With Contrast

1950 50C PR67 Cameo NGC. The 1950 and 1959 are the keys to the series of Cameo proof Franklins and have been recognized as such for the past 25 years. The existence of 1950 halves with frosted devices is a matter of chance rather than design as the dies were not worked on to produce this effect. Rather, a new pair of dies would produce a Cameo coin until the frost diminished with repeated strikings. This is a lovely, all-brilliant example that is essentially perfect with sharp field-device contrast on each side.(Registry values: N4719)
