Description

1966 Quarter Struck on a Five Cent Planchet

1966 25C Washington Quarter--Struck on a Five Cent Planchet--MS64 PCGS. A thoroughly lustrous gold, powder-blue, and mauve-tinged near-Gem. Slightly uncentered toward 12 o'clock, since LIBERTY and QUARTER DOLLAR are distorted and partially absent. Struck from worn dies that exemplify the 1966 coinage, which was produced in as large an amount as possible to replace hoarded silver dates.
From The Bellaire Collection, Part Two.
